About Me.

Journey to the world of therapy
1989 - 2000
From Dive Boats to Classrooms
Before entering the world of therapy, my career was very varied which fueled my love for travel and adventure. From working on dive boats in Australia to coordinating safaris in Kenya, and later teaching at an international junior school in London for seven years, I gained a deep understanding of adaptability, resilience, and the importance of emotional well-being.

Making Waves in My Garden
My journey has always been solution-focused, guided by a passion for creating positive change. This approach led me to build and run a successful swim school in my garden for 10 years, where we taught up to 300 children a week to swim—an experience that reinforced my belief in the power of resilience, confidence, and the right tools for growth.
1969 - 2017
Navigating Change
As an army child, I experienced firsthand the challenges and rewards of adapting to new environments, and this shaped my ability to support others in navigating change. Over time, I became increasingly aware of the growing challenges faced by children, particularly around depression and low self-esteem. This inspired me to train as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist in 2017, allowing me to empower my students, and later clients, to create lasting change without the need to dwell on past traumas.

Empowering Veterans, At-Risk Youth, and Family Through Universal Solutions
Today, I am proud to work with two military charities, The Icarus Charity and Always a Rifleman, supporting veterans living with PTSD. While these individuals have faced extraordinary life experiences, I am continually reminded that the solutions remain universal and effective. One of my early tutors wisely advised, “Don’t get seduced by the problem,” a mantra that keeps me grounded and focused on helping clients move forward with clarity and confidence.
I also collaborate with Key4Life, delivering emotional resilience programs to prisoners and young men at risk. The prison environment is often far from ideal—sessions may take place in small spaces along corridors or amidst numerous distractions, with time always limited. Yet, I am continually amazed by the profound impact and change that occurs, even in these challenging circumstances. Witnessing individuals regain control of their lives and significantly reduce re-offending rates fuels my passion for this work.
When I’m not working with therapy clients, I treasure time with my family, including my four children and our lively household of a dog, cats, and ducks—which are, of course, very much part of the family!
